I haven’t got much news from Fung & Sonija’s trip to Korea on Saturday, but there’re heaps of photos! During the performance, Fung sang two songs, “Love to search for you in memories” and “Huo Yuan Jia” (Jay Chou’s song!). He also danced too!

There were a couple of news articles today about ah Fung filming the MV for Love with no regrets. They’re all fairly short without much detail, so I haven’t translated them. I’ve added some photos to the gallery though! There is also a magazine article about the MV filming, which is included below…

Lam Fung cannot stop playing
Fung, who plays “Goon ga jai” - the person who takes on everything for the family in “Moonlight Resonance”, and wouldn’t let go. This time, he actually tells others to let go. Everyone rest easy, it’s only the meaning of his new song “Love with no regrets”. Fung said, “If you have loved then you will not have regrets, if you let go you can still be friends.” Wonder if Linda Chung had heard this song? But one minute Fung says to let go, the next minute he couldn’t stop playing. He played with the umbrella props, telephone and even splashed in the water puddles like a little kid. Actually, Fung hadn’t stopped working from noon to 2am, how could he survive without those little games to keep his alertness?

Saturday, 8pm, TVB8. Everyone remember ar!

Today I will be singing with Vincy Chan, it will be the first time that we sang this duet together live, which we had only finished recording recently. This duet is called After Tomorrow in Mandarin, but we haven’t decided what the Cantonese version will be called. Later on everyone can probably listen the Cantonese version as well. And then we will sing four songs each, and play games with the hosts. The TV show we’re doing today is called “Music on fire”.

I’m really excited now!! According to YesAsia, his new album will be available on September 9th, and there’ll be two covers available! Which cover do you like?

Working hard to promote new album, Lam Fung holds “taking pictures function”

The day before yesterday, Fung had a “shaking hands function”. Yesterday he also held a “taking pictures function”, to promote sales of his new album. This attracted a crowd of over 100 people. When he was playing table tennis against a female fan, he conceded the match to show his gentleman manners. Fung expressed that after the “shaking hands” and “taking pictures” functions, he doesn’t know what type of function he should hold next time. So a reporter suggested that he should hold a “kissing function”, when Fung heard it he said, “No la, you can hold that one!”

His new album will be released in September, Fung said, “The album is currently in post-production. Besides the inclusion of a duet, it will also have a fast song. (Will you rehearse a dance performance?) The company needs to arrange it. (Will you hold a concert?) This is only my second album, I think I’ll need to save up some songs and spend a lot of time to rehearse dance moves. Remembering lyrics is my weakness, I’m very bad at it. Usually I don’t like to remember lines either, I will only remember the key points, so we just make up the lines a lot of the time. (Were there any actors who couldn’t follow on from what you said?) No, everyone has a lot of experience. The more senior actors use different lines in different takes too. If you try to memorise the lines too much and then can’t forget them when you go to sleep, then it’s very troublesome.”

A function where fans get to shake his hand! LOL.

Fung’s first shaking hands function attracts many people and sweats

Recently, Fung’s popularity has risen due to “Moonlight Resonance”. Yesterday he attended a shaking hands function which attracted many fans. He was sweating while he was singing and there was a smart fan who gave him a tissue and was very attentive. This showed what an attraction he is.

Yesterday Fung was promoting his upcoming album, not only did he sing a few songs he also played games with fans. Besides Fung’s fans, the three level shopping centre were also packed with people watching, which also included foreigners. Fung was sweating heavily after singing a few songs, and a smart fan gave him a tissue, this was a pleasant surprise to him.

Fung said that this was his first time he held a shaking hands function with fans, he smiled and said he had already applied a lot of moisturising hand lotion. Is he afraid that some passionate fans will suddenly hug or kiss him? He said, “I don’t think they will! My fans are very polite. I had been hugged by fans before. But I don’t think that’s a problem, it’s just an expression of enthusiasm.

Taking Kam Jeh (Lee Heung Kam) to dinner secretly
When talking about “Moonlight” ’s high ratings and whether they will have a celebration function, Fung said, “Grandma (Lee Heung Kam) had already called him and asked when they will have dinner together. But it’s hard to find a time, I would like to take her to a secret place to eat some good food.”

About rumoured girlfriend Linda Chung receiving an award at the “Children’s songs awards”, Fung said he didn’t know about it. But when he was in the studio he saw her rehearsing. When asked whether he hopes to sing a duet with her again, he said that they’re not with the same record company, so if they’re singing a duet the details will need to be negotiated.

Fung: Yeah.
Host: Did you know how to kiss?
Fung: Of course I didnt’ know! If I knew then it wouldn’t be a “first kiss”!
Kitty: I want to ask, were you her first boyfriend?
Fung: Yeah.
Kitty: Aiya! First time for both of you….
Host: Then you can both discover the process of this first kiss….
Fung: It was very very romantic.. we were both learning through every step.
Kitty: Aiya… this one is very good.
Fung: So I think it’s very sweet….
Host: So this whole story, from the confirmation to holding hands to the kiss etc etc, you need to put it in a cupboard and occasionally reminisce because you haven’t had another girlfriend since.
Fung: Haven’t had the chance since entering the entertainment industry….
Host: This is like a living widower….
Kitty: CHOIII!!! (what the Chinese will say when someone says unlucky things!) You’re the living widower…
Host: Have many goods here!
Kitty: Too bad your goods have been stuck in the warehouse for a long time! (all laughs)

Kitty: So this was the first time for you both, puppy love, there must’ve been many romantic moments, like the first Valentine’s Day, the first Christmas, how did you arrange them? Did you deliberately create a really romantic atmosphere to give to her?

Kitty: When you were studying… was your love life exciting back then?
Fung: Not really… only once.
Kitty: HUUUUUHHHHH? One and only one?
Fung: Yeah. A real relationship which lasted for a period of time, yeah really, once.
Host: How long were you together?
Fung: That time….. it was for about 2 to 3 years.

Fung: Actually it started off with me secretly liking her, but actually the first time I tried to chase a girl was a failure.

Recently, Fung has appeared on a few radio interviews. The content is quite similar (where he talks about his love life and rumoured girlfriends). I picked this one to translate because I found it quite funny, especially when Kitty is “electrified” by ah Fung! This radio show was aired on 16th August on FM903’s AiShiTeRu, this segment is called “Love Story”. It is hosted by Kitty Yuen Siu Yee & Yu Dik Wai. As I don’t know the male host’s English name I’ve just referred to him as “Host”!

Raymond Lam Fung is 1/16th Spanish and is very popular against TV fans. From “A Taste of Love”, “A Step into the Past”, “Survivors Law”, “Twin of Brothers” to the recent “Moonlight Resonance”, his popularity is only rising not falling. His fans organised fan clubs for him in HK and Mainland China. HK’s club is called Fung Forever, and the one Mainland China is called FMH. Besides TV fans, music fans also like him. The themes and subthemes sang by Fung are very popular and he also received the award for the best selling male newcomer. Also, he’s also attacking the children’s market by singing theme songs for Digital Dinosaur (?) and Masked Superman. So even little kids like him. But out of everyone I think the people who like him the most are the paparazzi because every time Fung films a new series, they will add a rumoured girlfriend for him. His rumoured girlfriends include: Sonija Kwok, Rain Li, Michelle Ye, Tavia Yeung and Charmaine Sheh. His latest rumoured girlfriend is Linda Chung who is also this year’s Olympic Star.
