Raymond’s new series ratings have been aversage due to the fall in the Stock market
The Four TVB siu sings Ron Ng, Raymond Lam, Samuel Chan and Kenneth Ma attended a promotional function for The Four. The ratings haven’t been too high but hope it continues to do well and predict the finale to bring in ratings of 40 points. The recent results have only been average, last week at 28 points. Raymond thinks that the ratings have been affected by the falling share markets.

As for the ratings, the cast members weren’t disappointed with the ratings. Raymond said “It’s the 8:30 time slot so the ratings have been pretty good. It has also been the first time we’ve worked together so it felt really different. In actual fact the ratings may have been affected because the share market has collapsed and no one is in the mood to watch TVB series. Not only Hong Kong residents watch the show as there are many subscribers overseas.”

Selena wins the Limbo competition
The cast played many games at the function. At the time Selena was going under the bar, next to her were Ron and Samuel who were fooling around and the bamboo stick fell onto Selena’s head. Luckily there were no injuries and afterwards said “It was actually painful lah, Ron and Samuel are really playful, luckily no one was injured.”

When referring to the news reports about Kevin Cheng dating 6 female stars recently Ron Ng was in full support of Kevin and expressed “I understand the magazines which may not be true and you wouldn’t really believe them. (Is he the playboy type?) He is cooler than me, when I first met him he didn’t really talk much but when you start to talk to him he’ll have a good conversation with you.” The “Good boy” Ron was asked whether he had any tips for Kevin? He said “As an artist you will eventually have these kinds of rumors and you have to get use to them. It’s like a game so you just play along, you have to be coordinated.”

Raymond Lam Album sales reach Platinum Disc Sales
Raymond Lam’s second album (My Love) has sold over 30,000 copies. Yesterday evening Emperor Entertainment Group record company specifically held a celebration party for him. EEG Executive Ng Yu awarded him with a Platinum Disc. There were also 5 tables arranged for an abalone feast. TVB executive’s Stephen Chan and Virginia Lok were also present to support him. Vincy Chan also attended his party and gave him flowers. You can see that Raymond Lam is loved by everybody.

Raymond Lam frankly said he did not know his album sales will reach platinum disc sales because his first album only reached gold disc sales. When he received the good news he was quite shocked. He would like to Thank his record company and TVB for co-ordinating with each other. So that he could fully promote his album. The reporter referred that both companies are very fond of him. Raymond Lam said that in future he will try harder to repay everyone. He is currently preparing for his third album.

Will Raymond Lam hold a solo concert? He said frankly that he would like to have his own concert but he has only released 2 albums, there won’t be enough songs so he has to take his time. When referring to the news reports about Kevin Cheng dating 6 female stars recently. Raymond said that Kevin Cheng is (Very Man). But he felt the news reports were just for public entertainment. Each artist has a list of rumours and everyone shouldn’t mind too much.

TVB Executive Virginia Lok also said it was impossible for Kevin Cheng to date 6 girls and asked” Is he really that attractive?”. She laughed and said she felt Raymond Lam had more charm because he can sing. But when the reporter pointed out Kevin Cheng was once a singer, Virginia Lok apparently didn’t know how to respond. Ng Yu also teased Virgina Lok by saying “If they add you as well that makes 7″. When she heard this she replied “I can be his mother?”.

She meant that if Kevin Cheng wanted to be Wai Siu Bo he can apply for a permit. But she felt his personality isn’t like that.

Interview with Lee Heung Kam (Grandma) & Raymond Lam
When the 76 year old Lee Heung Kam meets the 29 year old Lam Fung, what is the result? If there is a generation gap every 3 years, then they have 16 generation gaps! But they’re surprisingly compatible, talking about food, video games, injuries…. they had a pimple on the same side, definitely admire them.

K: Before I worked with you I really didn’t know who you are. They said you’re dating Linda Chung, is that true? But I didn’t get that feeling between you guys (when you look at each other).
F: See my hand and you know I don’t have that moisture la! Actually when I first met you I was a little nervous, since I grew up watching your shows. Then I discovered after MR finished filming, you have more energy than young people.
K: I feel that you’re very good/obedient, just once you weren’t good. I was filming outdoor scenes with you, took a taxi which costed over 100 dollars. Then I found out you were sick and I had to take a taxi home. One time when you were sick, after I hugged you I fell sick too. You have a pimple and then I have one, don’t know if you gave me those germs.

Grandma playing video games day and night
F: Haha! With pimples you can’t infect others ga! Gandma! I thought you would be very imposing, but actually you’re quite easy going, like playing video games and even skipped meals because of it. I heard in the past the arteries in your eye burst because of playing, needed to go to hospital!
K: Yeah! I had an arcade machine at home, need to insert money! It has Tetris, Mario Brothers, War games, hero saving beauty….. I was playing it so much I didn’t go out, playing overnight and didn’t sleep. There was a time when I passed a stage I was so happy and screamed and the person upstairs threw a coke bottle down, scaring me.

F: No wonder when you saw me and Moses hiding and playing games, you came over to examine with us! There’s another thing, actually grandma you like to eat! So compatible with me.
K: Yeah! I remember when we filmed outdoor scenes, the car drove past this restaurant which looked quite alluring! And then after work we went to eat together, eat whatever, today we’re eating Spanish cuisine.
F: We’ve both injured our knees, so many things the same, can’t believe it. Unfortunately I wasn’t born earlier, otherwise I might chase you!
K: Don’t be silly, grandson!
F: Just kidding! Grandma you have such a good memory, saw you learning so many lines but rarely NG. Even if you made a mistake you can cover it pretty well, so what is your secret?
K: I started by singing Chinese opera! In the past I sang for four hours a night, the songs are like a script and had to sing from start to finish. This was how I practiced!
F: Har!! I can’t even remember the lyrics from the song I’ve sung for a whole year. Speaking of Chinese opera, I know grandma was very popular in the opera circles, especially being the bad character. Can you give me some tips?

Can’t accept criticism taking out six teeth
K: In the past you only used facial expressions to be the bad character, now you need to be bad from the inside, but there’s also a price to pay. I’ve tried going into a cinema to see the audience’s reaction. Someone said, “Na! That Lee Heung Kam is about to come out to scold people.” Also said my teeth became like this because of eating watermelons. The next day I immediately went to take out six teeth, then made some fake ones to replace them.
F: You’re quite extraordinary! Were you unhappy because of those comments? If that was me I wouldn’t know what to do.
K: No point in being unhappy, I really wanted the money! At the time a house costed a little over $40,300, I paid in three instalments and came through it!
F: Very strong woman wor, but now you’re working hard in stage dramas, movies, television and shows, you need to look after yourself more! You seem to be busier than people in the younger generation.

Filmed 51 movies in one year
K: Those days I was working a lot, the most I’ve filmed in one year is 51 movies. Some movies took four, 7 days to finish. Now many people ask me why I don’t retire and relax, actually I still like acting a lot, don’t feel exhausted. If one day I can no longer be so articulate, then I will retire!
F: Your attitude sets a good example for the younger generation. No wonder you can be in this industry for so long and still have the popularity, what do you think are the differences between the actors now and the actors from previous generations?
K: Before the artistes are like very snobbish, the fans are not as passionate. Before I entered the industry I really like Yam Kim Fai, so I waited outside her house. When I saw her coming out I just watched and didn’t dare to make noise, scared! When she sang I followed her backstage, then going back outside to see her. I’ve also sent letters to her.
F: I feel the artiste in the past are very protective of themselves, don’t go out anywhere. Making it hard for others to see them! But later television became popular, the distance between artistes and the public have shortened, even Chow Yun Fat would go to the markets!

Epilogue – lucky to meet each other
Fung, who normally insists on being on time, appeared more nervous than usual when he heard that he will be interviewed with Lee Heung Kam. To avoid embarrassment, he set his alarm clock the night before to ensure he won’t be late. In the end he was early, and surprised the reporter, very lucky!

Raymond Lam’s first time in Wu Han, obedient towards parents is the first consideration for girlfriend
The afternoon of October 3rd, even though it was raining, this did not diminish Fung fan’s enthusiasm. This is TVB’s “number one brother” Fung’s first time in Wu Han, news travelled to several thousands of fans who crowded outside a department store. During the interview Fung said that the first consideration for choosing a girlfriend is that she will be obedient (filial) to their parents. Being good to his family, Fung is really a “Goon Ga” man.

Liking jewellery not exclusive to women
The purpose of this trip is to attend ribbon cutting ceremonies for a jewellery store. Being a spokesperson for jewellery is normally exclusive to women, so why would Fung choose to be one? Fung smiles and says, “Maybe it’s because the people who buy this brand is mostly women, so the company chose me. The brand also designed some men’s jewellery, not only women can like jewellery or diamonds. Men are the same, normally I would wear jewellery too.”

Because of rain, Fung only appeared at the function for ten minutes and had to rush to leave. About this, Fung felt very disappointed. He said this is the first time to Wu Han, he originally wanted to have more time to be with his fans, sing some songs, but the weather is not good. Because of safety reasons, he had to leave.

The first consideration of choosing a girlfriend is being obedient to parents

In the HK entertainment industry there are many people who have already got married and have children. Has Fung ever thought about marriage? “Of course, but HK’s paparazzi are very capable, can’t imagine if I have a girlfriend in the future what rumours there will be? Fung’s father is known as “Xiamen Lee Ga Sing”, a well known and wealthy property businessman. First I will develop myself in the entertainment industry, but I’m the eldest son, so I will definitely go back.”

How much do you earn filming a TVB series? Fung said the income is not bad, he has enough money to spend. When Raymond Lam meets LP560-4
A popular person will naturally have more exposure and be in the spotlight everywhere they go. A car is of course the same. When a cool car goes on the street many people will naturally look at it. Fung who is very popular in music and TV, is now many girls’ idol. So whatever car he drives there’ll be hundreds of people following him. So what happens if we had the outstanding Lamborghini LP560-4? To avoid public nuisance, we choose an out-of-the-way place to test drive and take photos. The result is of course no one was there to secretly take photos or scream. This caused Fung to test drive the car more freely, and admits that he hasn’t tested the LP560-4 enough.

Closely following MR’s Goon Ga Jai, there is The Four’s Mo Ching, the new CD’s chat topping song “Love with no regrets”, plus many magazine covers, in these two months Fung’s face and voice had appeared everywhere. Mo Ching deliberately picks two seaters
Since he has plans to change cars, which car will he buy? Last year Fung has already said he wanted to change his existing SLK to Audi Q7. Is his target still Q7? “Still considering, at the end of the day I have never bought a seven people car before. Q7 seems to be very big, before I had looked at TT, the style is beautiful but the price is a little expensive, so didn’t buy it. Actually I like sports cars with smaller bodies, two seaters are even better, since normally I don’t have any passengers.” LP560-4 has two seats only, plus it uses a new front and back design, the style is cooler than the normal Gallardo, definitely suits Fung. “The style is definitely cool, but you need to be a show off to suit it. I’m more low-key, if a normal person uses this car to pick up girls that would be good, but if I use it people will gossip, and then you guys (reporters) will write headlines about me.” So he’s afraid of people’s words, the writer has a simple solution, and that is be faithful to car and women. Be with the same woman long term, use the same car. In the beginning people might say you’re showing off, but after a while they’ll say you’re faithful. The question is whether the popular master Fung can be as faithful as Goon Ga Jai!

Not enough love after the test drive
Last time when Fung tested the E63 AMG he already said that the horse power is too great, too afraid to drive fast. This time with the LP560-4 will it scare him? “There is some pressure, because the brand is too famous. I’ve also heard people said Lamborghini is difficult to drive, so I’ll definitely need time to adjust.” LP560-4 now has 560ps, which is 40 more than Gallardo, plus the gear system has been improved, there will be a feeling of a shooting bullet when starting. “In the beginning I was not used to the accelarator, even with a slight touch the car is already flying forward. If I have this car I definitely can’t help overtaking people, or challenge others. So I won’t buy it, don’t want to do the wrong thing!” Goon Ga Jai is still a person, still wants to break the rules deep inside, so what? A man will only mesmerise girls if he has a little bad guy personality!

Fung’s next target could be….
Last year when we interviewed Fung he already said his next target is Q7, but he said he didn’t have money at the time. This time he is very popular, with increasing income, so the next car target is different. He said it’s not the time to change to LP560-4 yet, does he need to wait until he’s like Aaron Kwok? And then add a [LAM FUNG] car registration?

“There is a great chance to change to TT, because of its cool appearance. It’s not big and easy to drive. I’ve already took it for a test drive, but want to think about it first because I’ll be very busy in the future. Don’t have time to buy a car, so I don’t know whether I want a hard top or convertible.”

“I always go past Maserati’s showroom in Wan Chai. The GT range is very beautiful, has the appearance of a sports car but not as showing as LP560-4 and Ferrari, plus there is an elegant feeling.”

“Actually it doesn’t matter whether it’s S5 or A5 because the appearance is similar. I feel it has the same elegance as GT, grand but also sporty, has a lot of personality. Plus not many people in HK drives it, it’s unique but not attention seeking.”

Raymond Lam in Mainland for function, Attracts thousands of fans
Yesterday Raymond Lam arrived in Mainland to cut the ribbon and attracted more than 1000 audiences. There is one person who wanted to see Raymond and did not care about safety, they climbed up to the top of the bus station shelter, the scene was very dangerous! Raymond couldn’t even described how terriflying the scene was.

Raymond Lam arrived in Mainland yesterday to help a jewelery store opening to cut the ribbon, there were many people that came to see him. The crowd filled from all four corners of the store to across the street of the store. The excited fans even climbed up to the top of the bus station shelter to see him. The security at the scene immediately place barrier tapes around the station for saftey reasons. But when Raymond appeared, the audience became more aggressive, they all moved foward and even pushed down the metal railings. Security members continuously tried to make the place safe for everyone, in case of an accident. Raymond and the audience played games. During the game there was one female fan put on a diamond ring, which caused some trouble.

Raymond accepted an interview afterwards and said that the scene was “terrifying”, but more series will have more supporting fans. Speaking of the female fan with the diamond ring, he said: “the ring really causes people to misunderstand, I only gave one to my first girlfriend, my mentality is quite traditional, hope to get married and start a family soon. But this wish is not to hope, have to see how fate goes!”

Speaking of the fight for TV King, earlier there were rumors that Moses Chan had a black face, suddenly there is another competitor for Raymond. Raymond expressed that he does not feel any pressure: “competing together is fun! I just hope that others can see that each time there is improvements and breakthroughs. Interview with the people behind the “Storm Riders” animated movie
(Translated Fung’s part only – except for Hin’s comments below!)

M (Milk Magazine): What are your thoughts on working with Juno & Fung?
Hins: Juno is a “Storm Riders” expert. He understands very clearly how to portray the character. This time he did a good job. Fung is an experienced performer, and TV king. He also performed very well. I’m quite weak at acting, so need to work hard.

M: Have you read the “Storm Riders” comics before?
Fung: Of course! I’m a comics fan. Like Juno, every time we see each other we will talk about any good recent comics, whether we’re chasing a particular edition etc. When I was studying I was already reading “Storm Riders”. Starting from the first edition, and also collected the special collector editions. Even though I’m the voice of Bo Keng Wan (Cloud) in this movie, my favourite character is actually Lit Fung (Wind). I think he’s very floating (?), and has the qualities of a legendary figure. And Bo Keng Wan is quite stubborn and doesn’t speak a lot. But this is also good, I have less lines, haha!

M: Did you have any difficulties dubbing the voice of Bo Keng Wan?
Fung: My voice is very deep so it’s very suitable for this character. Plus I already knew a lot about his personality, so it was easier to understand how to portray him. However, there were many fighting scenes where I had to scream loudly. For realism you need to scream without reserve, like acting. So after six hours in one day I lost my voice. The second day’s recording session had to be cancelled. This is my first time recording for an animated movie. Luckily Uncle Ding Yu taught me how to use my voice to portray a character, to move people. This aspect is very useful for future acting.

M: What do you think about the character Bo Keng Wan?
Fung: I think he’s very quiet and doesn’t talk a lot, doesn’t socialise with others. Actually it’s quite similar to myself in the past. In the past I don’t talk a lot. When someone speaks three lines I would answer one line, so it gives the feeling of arrogance to some people.

M: What do you think about the brotherly relationships (bond) mentioned in “Storm Riders”?
Fung: I think this kind of brotherly relationship exists in real life. I also have some good friends who will do anything for friends. But for two people to exchange their secrets there needs to be many factors combined together, have many environmental factors. There needs to be an opportunity where you can show how much you care for the other person, then there is a chance to create this type of bond.

M: What are your thoughts on working with Juno & Hins?
Fung: I worked with Juno in a TV series six years ago. Afterwards we were both busy so I’m very happy that we’re working together again. With Hins I was on stage with him last year during the music awards ceremony, this is the first time we’ve officially worked together.

Goon Ga Jai (Raymond Lam) loves to play video games

New album, new elements
The television series “Moonlight Resonance” finished airing recently. Fung’s “Goon Ga Jai” left a deep impression on the audiences. However, the Fung in real life has recently turned from actor to singer and released the album “Your Love”.

“This time the style of the album is different. Besides sad love songs, there are new elements added. Hopefully everyone will accept this different image. This time the recording process was quite unforgettable. Since I was very busy filming MR, after filming I had to enter the studio to record songs late at night. Since I was too tired, the result was not acceptable. So we finally decided to wait until MR finished filming and then concentrate on recording. It took approximately two weeks. If I have to choose my favourite song from the album, I think I’ll choose “Love with no regrets” because this is the song most people will know, ha!”

Play video games to reduce stress
After Fung finishes promotion functions in Hong Kong, he will also hold autograph signing/singing functions in Mainland China and other regions. Then he will film another series, very busy! But during these busy times, the best method to relieve stress is to go home and play video games, enjoying the fun in games.

“EA’s Battlefield: Bad Company game is very exciting. Plus it’s not very difficult, finally finished it. Also, every day after work there was this energy in me to want to go home and finish where I left off. Even though I’m 11 years older than my brother, every time we play games together we have many topics to talk about. In the future I would most want to play “Gear of Wars 2”. The last one was exceptional. This time there will be more monsters released so I believe it will be more exciting and suspenseful!”
