Raymond Lam: Professional, cool….man
On the day of shooting, Fung was wearing a black & white check shirt, the newest Chevignon jeans arriving at the studio, looking a bit tired. We’ve prepared many types of drinks, without hesitation, he took the coffee to drink.

The popular Fung, being an actor and singer, these days his schedule is very full, so the fatigue is showing on his face…. but when Fung faces the camera he will immediately be awake. When speaking of his career, his plans for the future, he couldn’t stop talking, believe that this enthusiasm can only come from a true love for his work, with his serious attitude towards work.

A man is the coolest when he loses himself in work…. today, we can see that in Lam Fung.


Cool….in principle
We began with asking Fung what he thinks is “cool”, he looked stumped, thought about it for a while and said, “I think “cool” is having your own opinion and thoughts on everything, doing things with a clear position and having principles.” In his views, having principles is not stubborn, you have to think about other people’s feelings while having your own principles.

As for cool on the outside, Fung uses clothes as an example, “Won’t blindly wear something not suitable because it’s stylish for the season, because clothing needs to be suitable to oneself, need to pick something for yourself.”

In Hong Kong where a lot of people blindly follow trends, everyone can often see 180lbs fat guys wearing slim cut Dior in Mong Kok and Tsim Sha Tsui. They can also see skinny guys in golden hair wearing an empty LV bag that they’re paying off by instalments…. these are all evidence that HK males are “polluting” the environment.

Work….turning into hobby
For a man, career is always number one. But how many people can turn a hobby into a career? Yes, that is Lam Fung.

“Acting and singing are my hobbies, so I have even more motivation to improve in my career.” He likes singing, but won’t write lyrics. “I’ll respect other people’s profession, a lyricist will definitely write better than me.”

“At the same time, I can concentrate on singing more, not only will I meet other people’s requirements, I will work hard to do even better.” His new album sold 30,000 copies for a reason, it’s because of sharing the workload between colleagues, it’s a team result.

Winter….favourite season
It’s November but hasn’t felt the cold yet, seems like Hong Kong doesn’t have a winter anymore. “Winter is my favourite, can wear different combinations. Plus there’re many holidays, and my birthday is also in winter. Whenever it’s Christmas, I’ve always wanted to go to Tsim Sha Tsui East to follow the crowd and walk beside the harbour, viewing the Christmas lights and soak up the atmosphere.” Fung going to the harbour side viewing the Christmas lights? Judging from “Goon Ga Jai”’s popularity, he’ll attract all the lights as everyone will crazily take photos!

In this “hot” winter, what does Fung like to wear this season?

“Every year I’ll always have turtlenecks, in the past I’ll match them with long coats, mid length coats, but this year I’ll pick a thinner parka. I think a leather jacket is every man’s essential, the slim cut style released in recent years is my favourite.”
