Lyrics Translation: Tai Chi Subtheme

6 March 2008 165 views 2 Comments

This is what I did during my lunchbreak! LOL. It’s a first draft anyway. @@ I’m unsure about some things but just did it as I had interpreted it, so it may not be 100% faithful to the lyrics! Suggestions welcome. :D

Life like water
(literally means “Floating life like water” but I took the 1st two words to mean “Life” as one)

Even though I am against the tide I am not afraid,
When my hands change forms the waves sleep.
No matter how big the waves are, they will be destroyed.
Why not learn how to softly move the waves and play amongst it.

If my beloved is lost on the opposite shore,
If I can rest my heart gently it will not be shaken.
Who would I be moved by, if I cannot protect I will let go.
Togetherness, separation, sadness and happiness are like water, don’t forcefully fight against it.

Be kind but not kind like water, move lightness and heaviness with the tide,
Be weak but not weak like water, when the water moves it flows away the heartache
Have acceptance but not accept like water, turn the pressure into wind.
With erosion, even the hardest rocks will melt, turning hatred into emptiness.

Don’t fight to be first – this is the best trait which you cannot find anywhere.
When you never focus on who your enemies are, that’s when you have none.
When shaken you cannot be peaceful you need to know how to use the power,
No matter whether you are sinking or floating, moving with or against the tide,
Turn around but not touch the shadow, just like shadow disappearing.

Be kind but not kind like water, move lightness and heaviness with the tide,
Be weak but not weak like water, when the water moves it flows away the heartache.
Have acceptance but not accept like water, turn the pressure into wind.
With erosion, even the hardest rocks will melt, turning hatred into emptiness.
